General.   If you are vacationing, Cowichan Lake is beautiful. The location is poor, but if you want to make a quick run to CN78 it's the best one available.  Paved Road all the way.

Driving Instructions.  You come on Highway 18 from Duncan, and about 300m before you get to the Cowichan Lake sign, you cross into CN78 from CN88. You are on the bottom of the valley and there is no way up the sides. The only decent spot I found was at the "Satellite Station". There are huge dishes (at least 50') clearly visible from the highway. On Hwy 18 follow the sign to Youbou on the North shore of the lake. About 2km past the Lake Cowichan sign you'll see the dishes on your right on the hill. Take the access road to the right and go about 500m. Stop before the gate of the satellite station to stay clear of the trees.
